You've decided to get married in Sicily, and now you're on the hunt for the perfect venue to celebrate your union. But have you decided on a date yet? Keep reading to discover what makes it the ideal location for your enchanting celebration and when is the best time to have your special day.
The Why
Sicily's beautiful natural landscapes, sparkling sea, and attractive baroque buildings all work together to create a unique and unforgettable destination. It is an inescapable island due to its beauty and the emotional imprint it leaves on those who visit. Not to mention, many Sicily wedding venues feature breathtaking scenery. Mother Nature doted upon this island, and the contrasting coastal, volcanic, and mountainous environments provide breathtaking views.
Sicily is home to some of the world's most picturesque landscapes, making it an ideal location for such a special event as your wedding. Guests can truly enjoy the breathtaking views, gaze upon the world's most romantic sunsets, experience the tranquillity this serene destination provides, and stare at the point where the sea and sky meet at Mount Etna.
So, it can be safe to conclude that getting married in Sicily is perhaps the best decision you can ever make!
The When
One of the first things we get asked while helping couples plan their wedding is, "When is the ideal time of year to be married in Sicily?" The Sicily wedding season lasts year-round, so you may plan your big day whenever it works best for you.
Our favourite time of year to visit Sicily is in the spring, between May and June. During this time, the island is warming up and flowers are blooming. In this picturesque setting, visitors and couples may both take in the fresh aroma of renewal in the air and admire the contrast of clear skies against the vibrant flora.
For the most part, spring would make a great time to host a Sicily destination wedding because of the mild weather and low visitor volume. Many newlyweds choose springtime for their guests can take advantage of the pleasant weather and explore the island's rich history and culture.
What we often advise against is hosting a Sicily destination wedding in August. The inland areas can reach over 35 degrees celsius throughout the summer, which might not be the most pleasant atmosphere to get married in. This month also represents the peak of the tourist season, which is yet another reason this isn’t the ideal time for having an intimate and romantic Italy wedding celebration.
We kindly advise that you choose the milder months of spring, perhaps May or June, if you want to have the picture-perfect destination wedding in Sicily!
